I’m teaching Finlay to count to ten in a number of languages. He is brilliant at counting to ten in English so I thought why not teach him a few more languages. He adores learning new things and he gets really excited when he sees our reactions to how well he is doing.
The other morning as we were driving over to my Mum and Dad’s I decided to start counting to ten in French and encouraging Finlay to copy me. I would say Un, and he would repeat. I would say Deux, and Finlay would again repeat. The same for Trois. However, when it came to number four – Quatre, instead of repeating back to me, Finlay said Meow – much to our amusement! It was such an hilarious moment, I guess you really had to be there to really appreciate it.
He has since become very good at counting to ten in French and we’ve now even started in Welsh aswell. I want to give Finlay as much knowledge and information as he wants to take in. He’s already showing signs of being quite exceptional. I just hope that I can help it all blossom and keep on giving him the challenges that he is seeking out.
Finlay is in bed at the moment. He came to visit me in work earlier and it was a great surprise. He came and sat on my lap while I worked and he was very popular with the girls as he walked around the office cutely waving at everyone and saying “bye” when it was time to go. He really is just an amazing little boy who fills my life with so much happiness. I couldn’t begin to describe how lucky I feel every time I see him, and tonight when he said “I love you” to me and smiled, it was perfect!
Here’s a photo of him

What a handsome young man!
