It was Rachel’s 12 week scan yesterday so Rachel, Finlay and I all went to the hospital for our first glimpse of our next baby. When the baby appeared on screen it was fantastic, there it was wriggling about, sitting up and turning over. We could even see its little heart beating, it amazed me and made me feel wonderful – especially as I had Finlay sat on my knee, both my babies in front of me.
Finlay liked seeing the computer screen but quickly wanted to jump down off my lap and have a little wander around the room, exploring and looking to see what everything did.
We were given an expected due date of May 4th, 1 week after Finlay’s birthday. If it comes early it could perhaps share a birthday, if it comes later it could share our anniversary. Whenever baby arrives it will be a very special day.
I look forward to it, I look forward to our family growing and all the lovely feelings that go along with it.
Finlay makes me so very very happy, I think that with all the new and different things baby will do, the happiness will never stop. I have a feeling that Finlay is going to be a fantastic big brother, he is so caring, I think he’ll really look after baby and make it laugh and smile.
8 weeks to the next scan, it will be lovely though we have decided not to find out the sex until the baby is born. It will make it even more special.
Just need to think of plenty of names now!
