Well when Finlay came out with this I didn’t know quite what to say. It wasn’t rude, don’t panic!
Yesterday I had the day off as I do every week to spend time with Finlay. After a two hour sleep in the morning it was time to put his dinner on. I put in a cheese pizza for myself, and flipper dippers and potato and carrot waffles for Finlay. I don’t think Finlay’s waffles were as crispy as he likes so he didn’t much want to eat them. Either that or the sight of the pizza on my plate was too exciting as all he wanted was my dinner.
I cut him little pieces for him to eat and he had a little nibble at his own dinner.
After much play and shopping in the afternoon it was time to pick Rachel up from the train station.
When Rachel asked what he had had for his dinner he replied “pizza” (this was not his new word however), when asked if he had anything else with his dinner he replied “beer!”.
I was quite literally shocked. He hadn’t had beer, nor had I, nor had anyone for that matter so quite where he got the idea from I don’t know. It was funny but could have been very embarrassing had a health visitor or someone like that been around. What would I have said? I think I’d have had to say sheepishly, “No Finlay, you didn’t have beer” before smiling and running away totally mortified!
When we went over to my Mum & Dad’s today – who’s anniversary it is today so Happy Anniversary Mum & Dad (32 years today) – Finlay told them also that he had had beer with his dinner yesterday. What must people think?!
Tonight I’ve just been relaxing mainly as I plan to give the house a good sort out on the weekend. We’re contemplating getting rid of two of our biggest units from our living room – if anyone wants them just give me a ring otherwise they’re going to the tip.
As I write this there are cats fighting outside, what an horrendous noise. I wish they’d be quiet, some of us are trying to write!
9pm and all is quiet, I best get on with some work while I can.
I’ll write again on the weekend when I’ve got a bit more to write about.
