A large part of my life is taken up travelling along motorways, I live about 30 miles from my parents who look after Finlay while I work. Invariably it will take anywhere between 45 minutes to an hour to get there.

This morning however I didn’t need to take Finlay to my parents’ house but I did have to work in Cardiff. Working 9 – 5 I decided to have a lie-in and set out around 7.50am. Normally this would get me into the city with time to spare, but as I sat in tail-backs of traffic I knew that this wasn’t going to be the case.

When I got to the cause of the traffic jam and saw it was only a minor bump (well that is all it was that had caused 10 mile traffic) I was less than impressed. The car drivers who had stopped at a slip road could have easily driven off the motorway and avoided the unnecessary delays.

I got to where I needed to be 2 minutes late (7 minutes later than I wanted to be.)
Those that know me well know that I detest lateness and will always be too early than be late.

So the day started badly but I am pleased to report that it got a whole lot better as the day went by for one reason and another.

It was great to finally get home and see Finlay, although it was only about an hour and a bit before he had to go to bed. I took him up and he went off so well. I’m looking forward to the weekend to spend some good quality time with him.

Tonight I’ve been coding the layout for IQP and it’s coming on a treat. I think it should be completed over the weekend with just the page content being awaited. I’ll post a link in due course.
