Do you ever have a day that just feels so long, so very painfully long that you just find yourself daydreaming? Well my day was pretty much like that. It’s hard enough being a working parent not getting to see Finlay as much as I’d like to, but when the day feels like it is dragging on for an eternity then it is even harder!!
Rachel has been at home today as she has not been very well. The GP has given her some tablets to help, hopefully in a few days things will improve a little for her. It’s starting to get her down. Not seeing Finlay at all today has really hit her hard. She was hoping to get some playtime with him tonight but as Finlay hasn’t slept all day, he fell asleep in the car on the drive home and is now sound asleep in his cot.
So I found myself daydreaming at times today, thinking about what I’d like to do in life – not just career-wise I mean, but activities, travel, adventures with the family etc. I’d love to do some go-karting, I haven’t been in about 10 years and last time I went I was really good at it, really fast. I had entered a competition and after a few test laps was tipped to win the whole thing. It didn’t pan out that way, I won the odd race here and there. I put on more of a show than be all competitive about it. Perhaps I could find some like minded people who are keen for some sporting action. A bit of racing would be right up my street.
Travel-wise, I was thinking back to all our trips to the Maldives. I had found a bookmark on my internet browser for the Maldiven Meteorological Centre and it made me wonder what the weather would be like out in the Maldives right now. I imagine that it is the rainy season as we were in the Maldives in September 2007 and the weather was just starting to turn bad. It wasn’t terrible by any account, but it was at this time that I got myself entangled in a very very bad storm. Scary and exciting all at the same time!
So I begin to wonder when I can do some of these things, I guess the only thing really stopping me is money, but that’s easily fixed, just need to dust the old wallet off!! haha!
I would love to go back to the Maldives again when Finlay is about 5 or 6 so that he is old enough to really enjoy it and really remember it. Until then I’d like to take the family back to Monte Carlo, do a spot of camping in Brest again (as that was amazing!) and who knows, perhaps Italy or the Czech Republic again.
I’m carrying on some work that I began over the weekend on a website for a Cardiff Theatre Company – Inky Quill. I’ll post a link once the site is completely finished.
Right, I’d better crack on.
I’ll blog again later when I’m sat down properly, will probably do it off the old moblee to save time logging on to the computer.
Until next time ….
