Lunchtime today was the best I’ve had in quite some time as I received a surprise visit from my gorgeous son Finlay bops. My Mum (who looks after Finlay while I’m in work) decided to visit the capital and bring Finlay along with her for a bit of an adventure. I received a text from my Mum asking me what time I was at lunch. From that point on I was excited about my lunch as I knew it would be great to see Finlay. He shared a bit of my pasty that Mum had kindly bought me and we spun around and cuddled and generally just enjoyed being together. I only get half an hour lunch due to the hours I work so it was shortlived but was fantastic nonetheless.
It must have been a good adventure for Finlay as he stayed awake all day for it which meant that he fell asleep in the car on the way home and then I put him straight in his cot when we got in. I’ll give him a bath in the morning.
I don’t work any Wednesdays so I’m glad that tomorrow happens to be Wednesday. I do hope that the weather is better than it has been today. If it’s wet again I’m not quite sure what we’ll do as Rachel will have my car. I should try and get an appointment at the doctors to have my wrist looked at as I’m in excruciating pain with it, my back too is very sore of late as I can’t get my car seat or office chair in a position that gives my back full support. We’ll see, chances are slim that I’ll be able to get a same day appointment but we shall see.
There is a documentary on tv and it looks like a good one, it’s set in New Guinea in a jungle. I’d love to go exploring like that, I bet Finlay would love it too – apart from the cannibalism that just got mentioned! Brutal!
All is quiet again in Chateau Stewart as Finlay bops and Rach are asleep leaving me to blog away as I unwind after a long day, there is champagne in the fridge but I may save that until the end of the week.
I found out earlier today that I got a mention in a theatre programme, it came as a bit of a surprise. As I was leaving the office and getting into the lift, one of the girls said that I got a mention in the thank yous. I’m developing the website for the theatre company (Inky Quill) whose play it was that the programme belonged to. I must send them my thanks as it was a wonderful gesture. I was unable to attend the performance as I was meeting with one of my other clients. I will certainly make an effort to see their next performance as the reviews I’ve heard so far were very complimentary.
Speaking of performances I’d like to take Rachel to a West End show and give her the tour of London, I’d like her to see where I lived in Hackney and where I studied (by that I mean got drunk haha). It’d be nice to go back and see what has changed and see what is the same – any faces I recognise. I’d like to know if my favourite Vietnamese Restaurant Hei Ha’s is still there too. Maybe one day I’ll go back, who knows. I’d like Finlay to see it all too, I’d like him to be able to travel the world when he’s older and see all the wonderous things that this planet offers. He’s already seen the Maldives though I doubt he’ll remember, but we have photos. I sometimes wonder how long we’ll still have them, I hope for a long time yet as they really are a paradise and the beauty beneath the deep blue is equally spectacular.
I was reading Finding Nemo to Finlay earlier in the car (Rachel was driving, don’t panic) and there is a character called Mr Ray who is a manta ray and I was explaining to Finlay that I had been fortunate to swim with several of them while in The Maldives. I’ll have to post some pics, or you can visit my Facebook page to see all the pics.
There are volcanoes exploding on tv and I want to watch the spectacle so will blog again tomorrow.
Wow, it really is amazing.
I hope that my blogs are as enjoyable to read as they are to write.
Until next time…..
