Well today has been a busy day indeed. We all got up early to go over to my parents’ house as Rachel wanted to go to an NCT sale to get some bits and bobs for Finlay. When we arrived at the house, the Saturday morning practice for the F1 was on so I stayed at home at watched that with my Dad while Rachel, Finlay and my Mum went to the sale.
On their return they showed off all the bargains that they had got. These included a picnic bench for Finlay to sit on out my parents’ back garden, a raincoat, a toy iron, some In the Night Garden books and a batman cape and mask. I was well impressed at the things they had managed to find!
After the Formula One qualifying had finished, I made my way down to a friend’s house as we are designing and building a website together. Time quickly got away from me and before I knew it, it was 7pm and almost Finlay’s bed time. So I made my way back.
On my return Rachel told me how Finlay had started throwing things at her earlier in the day, and one object hit her on the head. No sooner had I been told of this a remote control was launched my way by Finlay. Fortunately I was not injured! Phew!
Finlay surprised me with another word tonight when he came to the bottom of my legs, looked up at me and said “Batman!”. I was completely shocked, I thought it was incredible.
We then went back into the living room from the kitchen and put Finlay’s cape on him (he looked so adorable stood sweetly with a cape on) and we swung him around as he likes to be.
We even managed to get him to wear the mask while being swung around. He just looked up at me grinning playfully shouting “Batman!”
What a fantastic fantastic son I’ve got. He makes me happier than I could ever dream possible.
As I sit here typing away, he is peacefully sleeping and probably dreaming wonderful dreams of fun and happiness, and more than likely a little bit of cheekiness too!
I very much look forward to what tomorrow will bring.
